About the Author

Em has wanted to be a writer ever since the fourth grade, when she earned the nickname “Book Brain” for reading so much. In high school she read novels through math class, which perhaps explains her appalling understanding of physics. In college she studied ancient Classics, because the hydra and heroes of Greek mythology were the closest she could get to a major in dragons.

In 2018 she became an indie author when she published Asher’s Gifts, a coming-of-age fantasy about three magical teenagers whose choices about who they will become alter the destinies of whole worlds. Her second novel, The Woods, is a dark fantasy romance inspired by the themes of trickery and transformation in Little Red Riding Hood.

Em is polyamorous, and spends much of her time enjoying the company of her two loving partners. She considers herself an ally and seeks diversity in her writing and reading.

Most days, she can be found in a tiny cabin in the woods of upstate NY, where bookcases line the walls and fairy statues look out the windows at the pet chickens who peck in the yard. They have names like Khaleesi, Buffy, Hector and Octavia.
